Teneros Selected by AlwaysOn as AO100 Private Company Award Winner for Second Consecutive Year
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — July 31, 2007 — Teneros has been chosen by AlwaysOn and its partners as one of the Top 100 Private Company award winners for 2007. The annual competition recognizes companies in all stages of development that are creating new business opportunities in technology and demonstrating significant market traction.
Teneros won in the infrastructure category for the second year in a row, competing against over a hundred entrants nominated by leading venture capitalists, investment bankers and industry analysts. The winners were honored today at the annual Stanford Summit, presented by AlwaysOn and The Stanford Technology Venture Program. The goal of the event is to identify the most promising entrepreneurial opportunities and investments in the global tech industry. More information is available at http://alwayson.goingon.com/permalink/post/12264.
To pick the final winners, AlwaysOn editors, KPMG, Bridge Bank, Merrill Corp., Level 3 Communications, and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips surveyed industry insiders and reviewed more than 600 nominations. Each company was evaluated against the following criteria: innovation, market opportunity, commercialization, media buzz, and stakeholder value creation.
“The AO100 represents the best of breed from all the technology sectors we cover, and therefore is our most distinguished annual ‘top 100’ competition,” said Tony Perkins, founder of AlwaysOn. “We continue to be extremely impressed with how Teneros is driving the email continuity space forward. Its solution is a simple, affordable appliance that provides 24X7 uptime for Microsoft® Exchange. That’s something no one thought possible in an appliance format before Teneros came on the scene.”
“It’s a great honor to receive this award two years in a row,” said Steve Lewis, chief executive officer of Teneros. “AlwaysOn understands emerging technology as well as anyone in the world, so to be selected again confirms clear market demand for our simple, cost-effective solution to email continuity.”
Last month Teneros received the 2007 Microsoft® Partner of the Year Award in OEM Hardware Solutions, Device Manufacturing, at the Microsoft® Worldwide Partner Conference in Denver. Awards were presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of more than 1,800 entrants worldwide.
